failed to detect file format (Read 1410 times)

While directly double click on .fasta or.uprj file, ugene would start but pop up a eror window as failed to detect file format.
But start ugene first then drag file into it will not cause any problem.

What is your operating system and which UGENE package do you use? Did you install UGENE using an online installer?

When you double-clicked on a project file, did UGENE open immediately or you selected it in the list of applications?

Also, if possible, please check associations by file type in Windows settings (Settings > Default apps > Choose default apps by file type, find ".uprj" file type and check if application "ugeneui" is set as default).

Ugene is default software to open .uprj  files.

We reproduced the issue. It is connected with space characters (" ") in a path of an input file. And it seems that it is Windows 10 specific. You may try to check this - double-click on a file that doesn't have spaces in the path, and also make sure UGENE is installed in a folder without spaces in the folder path.

We'll try to fix the problem as soon as possible.
