Copying and Pasting Subalignment

To copy the current selection, click the Copy/Paste ‣ Copy selection item in the Actions main menu or the context menu. The hotkey for this action is Ctrl-C.

Additionally, you can copy the selection in different formats, such as FASTA, CLUSTALW, RICH TEXT (HTML), NEXUS, and MSF.

To copy a subalignment in a selected format, follow these steps:

  • Select the subalignment.

  • Select the Copy/Paste->Copy (custom format) context menu item in the context menu or use the hotkey Ctrl+Shift+C.

  • The global Options Panel tab will open:

  • Select the format and press the Copy button.

To paste any of the copied selections, use the Copy/Paste->Paste context menu item or the Ctrl+V shortcut.

To paste content before a selection, use the Copy/Paste->Paste (before selection) context menu item or the Ctrl+Alt+V shortcut.

To cut the selection, use the Copy/Paste->Cut context menu item or the Ctrl+X shortcut.

To copy the whole row(s), use the corresponding context menu item.
